Field-Placement Partners

Student Practicum Experience

The practicum experience is a year-long, immersive opportunity for students to co-design educational experiences that align with the mission and work of our partner organizations. Through this field placement, students become active participants in the life of the organization—learning about its goals, the people who bring its mission to life, and the ways it engages with the public.

Students explore the organization’s ethical commitments, gain a broad understanding of its initiatives, and examine how it serves the community. Rather than following a set project, educational designs are uniquely shaped by the student in close collaboration with the host site, making them responsive to the organization’s specific ethical needs, interests, and priorities.

Partner organizations are invited to join periodic check-ins throughout the practicum and may offer students a space for reflection at the end of the placement. Our students have worked with a wide range of organizations to design innovative, informal learning experiences that reflect real-world challenges and opportunities.
